The Jewel of France: The Loire Valley
September 22nd 2006 05:52
Bonjour tout le monde!
Moving onto a slightly happier and more beautiful region in France now: The Loire Valley. The Loire Valley has these really crazy metaphorical names like the Garden of France and the Cradle of French Language.
The Loire Valley is basically a cultural haven. It has many towns with beautiful architecture and is most famous for its gorgeous castles like Châteaux Amboise, Château de Villandry and Chenonceau.
Besides these castles, many attractions look into the beauty of the Renaissance and the Age of Enlightenment (both eras were important in France’s history).

The other thing which the Loire Valley is known for is its famous wines.
On December 2, 2000, UNECSO named the central part of the Loire Valley between Maine and Sully-sur-Loire as a World Heritage Site. It has been a great part of French history and will now be protected for future generations.
