Tour de France: Stage 14: Montélimar to Gap
July 16th 2006 03:53
Bonjour tout le monde!
Stage 13 was won by German Jens Voigt and Aussie Robbie McEwen again came in 6th. It’s pretty interesting that Robbie McEwen consistently finishes in the top ten of each stage, but isn’t one of the top ten contenders for the maillot jaune. I suppose c’est la vie. Cadel Evans is 5th overall and Michael Rogers is 8th.
Stage 14 takes place tonight across 230 kilometres between Montélimar and Gap in the south of France. It is a relatively flat stage.
In yesterday’s post, I told you about the wonders of Montélimar’s world famous nougat, so today’s post will feature Gap.
Gap is the préfecture of the Hautes-Alpes département. It lies about 722 metres above sea level on the bank of the Luve River. Gap has a rich ecclesiastical history.
For more information on Gap, click here. This link will take you to Gap’s council website.
Tomorrow is a rest day in the Tour de France, so I will look forward to Tuesday when I can give you the latest results and information from Stages 14 and 15.
À mardi
Until Tuesday
